Green Bay brewers launch special beer for NFL draft
Green Bay is gearing up for the NFL draft, and local craft breweries are getting involved. On March 20, Badger State Brewing Co. started canning a special beer called 8th Round Downtown. This hazy pale ale was created by nine breweries from the Green Bay area. The 8th Round Downtown will be available during two festivals in downtown Green Bay on April 23 and April 26. It is the official craft beer of the Draft City Music Festival, which will include live music, food trucks, and family activities. This beer is made with three types of hops, along with barley malt, wheat, and oats. It has an alcohol content of about 5.2%, making it easy to drink while enjoying the draft festivities. The beer has a fruity aroma and a flavor that includes hints of citrus and honeydew melon. Besides being sold at the festivals, a limited supply of 8th Round Downtown will be available at the taprooms of the nine breweries involved. Mayor Eric Genrich encourages visitors to explore the Green Bay area and enjoy all its amenities, from breweries to parks. Overall, Green Bay's craft beer scene is excited to celebrate the NFL draft while showcasing its local creations.
