Green Party criticizes Carney for resembling Conservatives
Montreal — The Green Party's co-leader, Jonathan Pedneault, criticized Liberal Leader Mark Carney for resembling a Progressive Conservative instead of a Liberal during the current federal election campaign. Pedneault expressed disappointment over Carney's decision to cancel the consumer carbon tax. He believes that taking action on climate change is crucial and should be a priority. As the face of the Green Party's campaign, Pedneault launched their efforts in the Montreal riding of Outremont, where he is challenging incumbent Liberal candidate Rachel Bendayan, who also serves as immigration minister. Pedneault had briefly stepped away from the party due to health issues but returned this year. He stated that Canada faces serious threats, including climate change and the influence of U.S. President Donald Trump.
