Grethcel Soltones shines in Akari Chargers' quarterfinal win

Grethcel Soltones played a crucial role in helping the Akari Chargers secure a spot in the semifinals of the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference. The team faced a tough challenge from Galeries Tower, which is led by her former teammate Alyssa Eroa. After a hard-fought match, the Chargers won with a score of 19-25, 25-20, 16-25, 25-20, 15-12. Soltones praised Galeries' strong defense, particularly highlighting Eroa's skills. She mentioned that scoring against them was difficult, but it brought her joy to compete against a familiar face. With 13 points in the match, Soltones expressed her commitment to their training and the sacrifices made as a team. She was also eager to prove her abilities after recovering from a knee injury that limited her playtime earlier in the season. Soltones emphasized her desire to contribute and push through any fatigue as she regained her form. Despite finishing the preliminary round with a 5-6 record and entering the quarterfinals as the seventh seed, Soltones and her team remained determined.
