Groucho's Deli reopens in Forest Acres after renovations

Groucho's Deli has reopened in Forest Acres after more than a year of renovations. The deli, known for its popular Apollo Dipper sandwich, features new decor and wall-mounted TVs. Its general manager expressed excitement about serving customers again in a Facebook video released on the day of its reopening, February 5. The deli is located at 4717 Forest Drive and is one of over 35 businesses that have opened or been updated in the area recently. Groucho's Deli has been in operation since 1941 and has over 27 locations across South Carolina. It also has branches in North Carolina and Georgia. Renovations at the Forest Acres location include new booth seating and artwork. A prominent wall displays a large vintage photo of the deli's founder, Harold "Groucho" Miller. Another bathroom wall features a colorful pop art collage of celebrity icons like Marilyn Monroe and David Bowie. Matt Dempsey, an inspector from the deli's corporate office, described the new design as a "retro look." He noted that this location will serve as a model for future franchises, showcasing ideas for decor and technology improvements. The deli has also installed a new screen to help manage customer orders better.
