GTA 5 could soon join PC Game Pass
New reports suggest that Grand Theft Auto V (GTA 5) may soon be available on PC Game Pass, a subscription service from Microsoft. Leaks from a respected source, Insider Tez2, indicate that Rockstar Games and Microsoft are discussing its potential addition. GTA 5 has already been offered on Xbox Game Pass multiple times, but it has not yet appeared on the PC version. Talks to include the game on PC Game Pass have been ongoing since 2023. During Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard, documents revealed that Take-Two Interactive wanted between $12 million and $15 million per month for access to the game. If GTA 5 joins PC Game Pass, players might need the Rockstar Games launcher for authentication. This is similar to other games on the service, which often require separate launchers despite being accessed through the Xbox app. If the game is only available for a limited time, players could still buy the game separately to keep their progress. On PC, GTA 5 includes access to the popular GTA Online, unlike the console versions that may need separate subscriptions for online play. If added to PC Game Pass, this multiplayer feature would likely be included. The Game Pass version could also offer enhanced graphics and faster loading times. Many PC players recently expressed disappointment when Rockstar announced that the upcoming GTA 6 would only be released for consoles initially. Bringing GTA 5 to PC Game Pass could attract more players and expand its audience. However, there has been no official confirmation from Rockstar Games or Microsoft about this addition.
