GTA 5 updates hint at upcoming GTA 6 features
Fans of the Grand Theft Auto series are still waiting for the release of GTA 6, expected later this year. Rockstar Games, the company behind the franchise, has not shared many updates since the trailer released in December 2023. Recently, experts from Digital Foundry analyzed the Enhanced Edition of GTA 5. They found that the game includes advanced lighting technology called ray-tracing global illumination, which may be similar to what is used in GTA 6. Despite this promising news, some technical limitations were noted. The experts believe that GTA 6 may not run at a smooth 60 frames per second on consoles. According to Alex Battaglia from Digital Foundry, while the new lighting effects are good for graphics card performance, they put a lot of pressure on the central processing unit. This means that achieving 60fps could be challenging for the new game on consoles like the PS5 Pro. GTA 5 was a groundbreaking game when it was launched in 2013. It pushed the limits of the Xbox 360 and PS3 at that time. Recently, Rockstar has set high standards with Red Dead Redemption 2, which showcased impressive graphics and realism. GTA 6 will be the first game from Rockstar to feature ray tracing technology from launch. As fans wait for more news about GTA 6, they may want to revisit GTA 5. The game is still available for purchase, with prices varying based on the platform. The Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC versions of GTA 5 include the new ray tracing technology, but the PC version offers the best visual performance.
