Gujarat Titans coach Ashish Nehra rules out retaining Mohammed Shami in IPL auction
Gujarat Titans head coach Ashish Nehra declined to use the right-to-match option for fast bowler Mohammed Shami during the IPL mega auction. Shami was sold to SunRisers Hyderabad for INR 10 crore after a bidding war. Shami, who played for Gujarat Titans in the last two seasons, was a key player, taking 48 wickets in 33 matches. Fans expressed disappointment on social media over the Titans' decision not to retain him. The IPL 2025 auction, held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, saw significant bids, including Rishabh Pant being sold for INR 27 crore. Gujarat Titans also acquired Jos Buttler and Mohammed Siraj for INR 15.75 crore and INR 12.25 crore, respectively.
