Gukesh aims to improve in various chess formats
Indian grandmaster D Gukesh, the youngest World Chess Champion, visited Tirumala Temple to offer prayers before a busy 2025. He expressed gratitude and shared his desire to improve in various chess formats this year. Gukesh has had a mixed start to 2025, finishing second at the Tata Steel Masters but struggling at the Weissenhaus Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Tour. He currently ranks third in the FIDE world rankings and is India's top player. His next competition is the Paris leg of the Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Tour, taking place from April 8-15. Gukesh aims to focus on important tournaments throughout the year.
