Gukesh Dommaraju returns to India as youngest chess world champion
Gukesh Dommaraju returned to Chennai on Monday after becoming the youngest chess world champion at age 18. He won the title by defeating defending champion Ding Liren 7.5-6.5 in Singapore last week. Gukesh's victory makes him the youngest champion in history, surpassing Garry Kasparov's record by over four years. He is only the second Indian to win the title, following Viswanathan Anand.
