Gurgaon teens extorted by fraudsters posing as police
In Gurgaon, a 15-year-old girl fell victim to a group of fraudsters who pretended to be police officers. These criminals extorted money from her by threatening to share altered photos. The investigation has led to the arrest of eight suspects. Authorities have managed to recover Rs 40 lakh out of the total Rs 80 lakh that the girl lost. The blackmailing started in February and continued until December of last year. Initially, six people were arrested in connection with the case. However, new evidence identified two additional suspects. One of these is Fardeen, a 23-year-old from Jakh village, who acted as a police officer and took Rs 2 lakh from the girl. He was arrested on March 17. The latest arrest was made on Friday, with a 25-year-old man named Liyaqat taken into custody from Lohinga Khurd village.
