Gurgaon's air quality worsens to very poor category as winter approaches
Gurgaon's air quality has worsened to the 'very poor' category, with an air quality index (AQI) of 302 on Thursday, up from 293 the previous day. The highest AQI was recorded at Sector 51, reaching 368. As winter approaches, air quality is expected to decline further due to low wind speeds and increased pollution from local sources. Stubble burning has contributed significantly, with 888 cases reported this year, compared to 1,579 last year. Delhi's air quality remains poor, with an AQI of 377, marking nine consecutive days in the 'very poor' range. Health experts warn that vulnerable populations, especially those with respiratory conditions, are at greater risk due to the deteriorating air quality.
