Gurugram focuses on road safety and school transport regulations

Gurugram's Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar held a meeting to discuss road safety and transportation issues. The meeting covered 48 agenda items, including safety for school transport and problems caused by roadside dhabas. Kumar emphasized the need to eliminate "black spots" on roads. He urged police and officials from the National Highways Authority of India to carry out checks on roadside eateries for proper permits. He warned that illegally parked vehicles pose a serious accident risk. He also stressed the importance of the Safe School Vehicle Policy. School buses must have valid fitness certificates, and drivers breaking traffic laws should be reported to school management. Parents should be encouraged to report any issues. The meeting identified high-risk areas such as La Laguna on Golf Course Road, where speed reduction measures will be implemented. Safety measures for pedestrians at Panchgaon Chowk were also suggested. Kumar requested a progress report regarding a flyover construction at Bilaspur Chowk. He ordered the removal of unauthorized shops along the KMP Expressway and called for action against illegal road exits. He concluded by stressing the importance of monitoring dangerous locations and taking corrective actions promptly.
