Hangeland tackles pitch invader during Norway match

Former Premier League player Brede Hangeland tackled a pitch invader during Norway's World Cup qualifier against Moldova. The incident happened on Saturday while Norway was leading the match. The fan jumped onto the field and ran towards Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, who was sitting on the bench after being substituted. Hangeland, now part of the Norway coaching staff, quickly intervened and stopped the fan before he could reach Haaland. Security soon arrived and removed the pitch invader from the stadium. The head of security confirmed that the fan was specifically trying to get to Haaland. He stated that Haaland remained calm during the situation, but called it "disgusting." Norway won the match 5-0, with Haaland scoring a goal earlier in the game. The team is now preparing for their next match against Israel on Monday in Hungary. Hangeland has been part of the coaching team since 2021, and he is well-known for his previous playing career in the Premier League.
