Hanumanth Nirani appointed to Bagalkot University board

BJP member Hanumanth Nirani has been appointed to the board of the University of Horticultural Sciences in Bagalkot. This appointment was finally announced by the State government on Thursday after a delay of eight months. The delay caught the attention of Basavaraj Horatti, the Chairman of the Legislative Council. He summoned the university's Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, and the Horticulture Department Secretary for an explanation on Thursday. This issue was debated in the House, where Congress members expressed their concerns about the honor of the House and the pending appointment. Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H.K. Patil attended the meeting on Thursday morning, leading to the resolution of the issue. By the afternoon, Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot issued the necessary notification for Mr. Nirani's appointment. Mr. Nirani criticized the earlier delay, saying the file had been stuck with the Chief Minister’s Office. He pointed out that another appointment was processed quickly, accusing the Congress government of playing politics by delaying his appointment. Horatti had previously sent reminder letters regarding the notification and even threatened to take further action against the Minister.
