Harry and Meghan's Netflix deal may be renewed
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are working to keep their deal with Netflix as it nears its end later this year. The couple signed a $100 million contract with the streaming service in 2020 after leaving royal life and moving to the United States. Recently, their new cooking series, “With Love, Meghan,” did not perform as well as expected. It brought in 12.6 million hours of viewing in its first six days. In contrast, their earlier docuseries “Harry & Meghan” had a record 81.5 million hours watched in just four days after its release in 2022. Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams suggests the couple needs to maintain their partnership with Netflix. He believes they may negotiate a new deal, although it might be much smaller than their original contract. Fitzwilliams noted that despite lower views, Netflix has already renewed “With Love, Meghan” for a second season. Since signing with Netflix, the Sussexes have produced several projects, including the docuseries “Live to Lead” and the “Heart of Invictus” documentary. The couple's recent work has faced mixed reviews, with some projects receiving criticism.
