Harvey Weinstein appears in New York court for first time since cancer diagnosis
Harvey Weinstein appeared in a Manhattan courtroom for the first time since his cancer diagnosis. He was wheeled in and thanked supporters. A judge ruled that his retrial will include a new allegation of forcing oral sex in 2006. Weinstein's retrial, originally set for November, has been postponed until at least spring 2025 due to the new allegation. The judge decided to combine this case with his previous charges, as many witnesses will overlap. Weinstein is currently serving a 16-year sentence for a separate case in Los Angeles. He remains in custody at Rikers Island and will be transferred to California after his New York trial.
