Harvey Weinstein diagnosed with bone marrow cancer while in custody
Harvey Weinstein has been diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia and is receiving treatment at Rikers Island, according to NBC and ABC News. This diagnosis adds to his existing health issues, including a recent heart surgery and hospitalization for Covid-19. Weinstein's 2020 conviction was overturned in April due to a ruling on witness testimony. Prosecutors have indicated they may pursue additional charges, as some accusers are now willing to come forward. In September, Weinstein was indicted on a new sexual assault charge related to an incident in 2006. He has pleaded not guilty to this charge.
