Harvey Weinstein diagnosed with bone marrow cancer while in prison
Harvey Weinstein, the former Hollywood producer facing multiple legal issues, has been diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia while in a New York prison. This diagnosis comes shortly after he was charged with a new sexual assault count. Weinstein, 72, has a history of health problems, including complications from COVID-19 and heart issues. He was moved to a medical facility in July for treatment and underwent emergency heart surgery in September. He remains incarcerated, awaiting a new trial and facing additional sexual assault charges. Weinstein was previously convicted of rape in 2020, but that conviction was overturned in April 2024 due to trial fairness concerns.
