Harvey Weinstein diagnosed with leukemia while in prison
Harvey Weinstein has been diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia while serving a 16-year prison sentence in New York. Reports from NBC and ABC indicate he is currently undergoing treatment for this form of bone marrow cancer. Weinstein's health news follows a recent indictment on a new sex crime charge, to which he pleaded not guilty. He also underwent emergency heart surgery last month but was reported to be stable afterward. Weinstein, a former Hollywood producer, has faced numerous allegations of sexual misconduct, which contributed to the rise of the MeToo movement. He was previously convicted of rape and sexual assault in New York and California.
