Haryana extends textile policy until December 2026
The Haryana government has announced the extension of its Atma Nirbhar Textile Policy until December 2026. This decision comes after a positive response from entrepreneurs in the state. The extension was confirmed during a recent Cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. The Atma Nirbhar Textile Policy, originally set for the years 2022 to 2025, aims to improve the textile industry by attracting an investment of ₹4,000 crore and creating 20,000 jobs. The government also lifted the limit on the number of cases eligible for subsidies, which should help meet these goals. Since the policy's launch, 354 applications have been submitted for various incentives. Of these, 108 have been approved, amounting to ₹367.51 crore in grants. This indicates strong interest and investment in the textile sector. In addition to the textile policy, the Cabinet approved changes to the dairy sector rules. The amendment reduces interest on late milk cess payments from 24% to 12%. This change aims to relieve financial pressure on milk processing companies in Haryana. The Cabinet also categorized municipal job posts into groups A, B, C, and D to improve recruitment and equalize service conditions with other government positions. This move should help with promotions and apply government rules more consistently. Lastly, an amendment to the One Time Settlement Scheme for tax recovery was approved to assist small taxpayers. Those with outstanding dues up to ₹10 lakh can now receive a waiver of ₹1 lakh, benefiting many small traders across the state.
