The committee managed to save nearly ₹7 crore through negotiations with bidders, according to an official spokesperson. Urban local bodies minister Vipul Goel was also at the meeting. Other approved projects include replacing existing streetlights with energy-efficient LED streetlights in Yamunanagar, at a cost of ₹16.50 crore. They also agreed to a smart streetlight system for Ambala, costing about ₹15 crore. Additionally, the construction of hostel blocks at the hockey stadium in Karnal will be funded under the smart city mission for ₹13.25 crore. The chief minister emphasized that all projects must be completed on time. He warned that any delays would lead to accountability for the contractors and officers involved. Saini also assured that the quality of the work would not be compromised.
