Haryana's Anil Vij proposes resolution for Sunita Williams

Chandigarh: Anil Vij, Haryana's minister for energy, labor, and transport, welcomed astronaut Sunita Williams back from her recent space mission. During a session in the state assembly, he proposed that the assembly acknowledge her safe return formally. Vij praised Sunita's strong ties to India and her respect for Indian culture. He noted that she carries the Bhagavad Gita with her on every space journey, symbolizing India's spiritual legacy. Vidhan Sabha Speaker Harvinder Kalyan agreed with Vij's resolution to honor Sunita Williams’ contributions. In related news, Minister of State for Sports Gaurav Gautam announced the release of Rs 13.75 lakh for repairing the Rajiv Gandhi Sports Stadium in Pundri. The stadium has various facilities, including an athletics track and courts for basketball and volleyball. Gautam provided the update in response to an inquiry from local MLA Satpal Jamba. Health Minister Kumari Arti Singh Rao shared that the state government has selected 561 doctors for future appointments. This move aims to address the shortage of medical professionals in civil hospitals. The government will also work on improving medical equipment availability to ensure quality healthcare for patients. Regarding the Rewari area, Rao announced plans to relocate the civil hospital and trauma center. The current site is in a low-lying area, and proposals have been made to move them to Gokulgarh or Bhagwanpur. After evaluating both locations, the government will choose the most suitable site for new facilities.
