HaystackAnalytics launches TB diagnostic solution in India

HaystackAnalytics has launched a new TB diagnostic solution called ‘TB One’. This product aims to improve tuberculosis (TB) diagnosis in India by making advanced genomic testing more accessible. ‘TB One’ is a Make-in-India solution that equips diagnostic labs and hospitals with a pre-sequencing kit for Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) of TB DNA. The kit is designed to be user-friendly and integrates easily into existing lab workflows. It allows healthcare providers to create a library ready for sequencing. Along with the kit, users also receive access to ‘Omega TB’, HaystackAnalytics’ clinical reporting software. This software provides detailed reports on drug resistance to 18 different anti-TB medications and can identify mixed infections. The solution was introduced by Dr. Anirvan Chatterjee and Dr. Rajendra Prasad during the ICMR India Innovation Summit on March 19, 2025. Dr. Chatterjee emphasized that ‘TB One’ enables labs to conduct high-precision genomic testing without the need for expensive equipment upgrades, making advanced diagnostics more widely available. Dr. Rajendra Prasad highlighted the urgency for faster and more precise TB diagnostics, especially in the fight against drug-resistant TB. He believes ‘TB One’ could transform routine laboratories into advanced testing facilities, thereby enhancing TB care and saving lives in India.
