Healing divisions in Manipur will take time, says RSS

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) discussed the situation in Manipur during its annual meeting in Bengaluru. The group noted that President's rule in the state has brought some hope for peace, but challenges remain. RSS general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale mentioned that it will take time to build trust among communities in Manipur. He acknowledged ongoing ethnic tensions that have lasted nearly two years. CR Mukundan, the joint general secretary, expressed cautious optimism. He stated that while President's rule could help with administration, healing the community's wounds will take time. He emphasized the need for a long-term effort to restore harmony. The RSS is actively working to unite the Meitei and Kuki communities. Volunteers from both groups are engaged in rebuilding trust. Meetings have occurred in various locations, including Imphal and Guwahati. The RSS urged all communities in Manipur to move past distrust and strive for social unity and brotherhood.
