A study published in BMJ Evidence Based Medicine found that a healthy lifestyle can reduce the risk of early death by 62% in individuals with a genetic predisposition. Data from over 350,000 people showed that an unhealthy lifestyle increased the likelihood of early death by 78%. Individuals with genetic risk could extend their lifespan by up to 5.5 years by adhering to healthy lifestyle factors like no smoking, regular exercise, adequate sleep, and a healthy diet.
