Heathrow Airport project manager loses race discrimination claim over security search

A black project manager at Heathrow Airport, Veleta Brown, has lost her race discrimination claim after suing the airport for over £1 million. She alleged she was strip-searched and treated like a criminal when she set off a security scanner. An employment tribunal ruled that the search was not related to her race. The judge noted that the security process is necessary for safety and that the archway scanner cannot select individuals based on race. While the tribunal acknowledged flaws in how the airport handled her complaint, it dismissed all of Brown's claims, stating there was no evidence of racial discrimination in the search process.
