Heavy rainfall warning issued for Luzon and Visayas as Tropical Storm Nika approaches
The Philippine weather agency, Pagasa, has issued a heavy rainfall warning for parts of Luzon and Visayas due to Tropical Storm Nika. Rainfall of 50 to 100 millimeters is expected in several provinces from Sunday to Monday noon. Areas such as Tarlac, Nueva Vizcaya, and Pangasinan may see moderate to heavy rainfall, while Kalinga and Mountain Province could experience heavy to intense rainfall. Regions like Cagayan and Isabela may face intense to torrential rainfall exceeding 200 millimeters. Nika is currently located about 500 kilometers east of Infanta, Quezon, moving west at 30 kilometers per hour. It has maximum sustained winds of 100 kilometers per hour and gusts up to 125 kilometers per hour.
