Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has asked officials to assist horticulture farmers affected by recent bad weather in Andhra Pradesh. Heavy rains and hailstorms damaged crops across four districts: Anantapur, Kadapa, Sri Sathya Sai, and Prakasam. The bad weather impacted 1,670 hectares of land, affecting about 1,364 farmers from 40 villages in 10 mandals. Mr. Naidu held a meeting with Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu and other officials to assess the situation. During the meeting, he expressed concern for two banana farmers from Nirjampalli village who tried to take their own lives due to crop loss. Officials reported that both farmers are safe and have been moved to a hospital in Anantapur for better care. Mr. Naidu directed officials to provide all possible support to the affected farmers during this difficult time. Meanwhile, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, president of the YSR Congress Party, plans to visit the damaged banana plantations in Lingala mandal to talk with the farmers impacted by the storms.
