Heavy vehicles banned in Islamabad, Rawalpindi for celebrations

Authorities have announced a ban on heavy vehicles entering Islamabad and Rawalpindi from March 22 to March 23. This decision is made to ensure security and manage traffic for the upcoming Pakistan Day celebrations. Heavy vehicles will be stopped at various checkpoints around the twin cities. Those coming from Peshawar via GT Road will be halted at Margalla and Taxila. Vehicles traveling on the Motorway will be blocked at Burhan Interchange. From Lahore, heavy vehicles using the Motorway will be restricted at Chakri Interchange. Those on GT Road will be stopped at Mandra Toll Plaza. Vehicles from Kashmir and Murree will find checkpoints about 20 kilometers before 17 Mile Toll Plaza. Authorities encourage drivers of heavy vehicles to avoid traveling to these cities during the ban. They should plan ahead and find safe parking locations until the restrictions are lifted.
