Heerapura bus terminal in Jaipur opens in May
The Heerapura bus terminal in Jaipur is set to start operations by early May. This decision comes after the state government decided to move the bus stop from Narayan Singh Circle to Transport Nagar. The aim is to cut down on the number of buses moving through the congested Sindhi Camp area. This plan was discussed during a meeting of the Traffic Control Board under the Jaipur Development Authority. An official mentioned that multiple meetings are needed before the terminal opens. However, the transport department will begin preparations right away. On Tuesday, regional transport officer Rajendra Singh Shekhawat will meet with private bus operators and officials from the Rajasthan State Roadways Transport Corporation. The meeting will include representatives from different transport associations to ensure passengers can easily reach their destinations from the new terminal. The government initially intended for the Heerapura bus terminal to be a commercial hub as well. However, they are now moving quickly to open it due to concerns from traffic police and the National Highways Authority of India. These agencies want to ease congestion at the 200-feet Bypass Crossing, which is often blocked by buses picking up passengers on their way to Ajmer.
