Heritage walks launched in Chennai's Ripon Buildings

Chennai's Ripon Buildings are now open for guided heritage walks. These tours, organized by the group Nam Veedu Nam Oor Nam Kadhai, showcase the building's rich history. The Ripon Buildings are an important colonial landmark located near the Central station. Guided tours began earlier this year and are available four times a week. The walks last about an hour and offer insights into both the historical aspects and modern uses of the building, including the Integrated Command and Control Centre. This center manages numerous citizen complaints and tracks city data in real-time. Tours are scheduled for 8 AM to 9 AM on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
