Himachal CM requests Rs 9,042 crore for recovery support

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi. During their meeting, Sukhu discussed important issues affecting the state. He urged Shah to speed up the release of Rs 9,042 crore for the financial year 2023-24. This amount is part of the post-disaster needs assessment (PDNA), which addresses the consequences of recent disasters in the region. Sukhu also talked about the drug problem in Himachal Pradesh. He noted that drug-related cases have decreased by 30% over the last two years. The government plans to introduce new legislation in the ongoing budget session to better combat the issue. In response to questions about party organization, Sukhu mentioned that Rajani Patil, the Himachal Congress in-charge, is in regular contact with party leaders. He stated that appointments for office-bearers will be made soon, following discussions with the party's top leadership.
