Holly Holm offered boxing title fight against Mikaela Mayer
UFC star Holly Holm has received an offer to fight for a boxing world title. Mikaela Mayer, the current WBO welterweight champion, said she would face Holm because she believes she can win. Mayer is a confident fighter, having held multiple world titles in different weight classes. Despite Holm's history as a boxing champion, Mayer thinks she will defeat her. Holm’s mixed martial arts record stands at 15 wins and 7 losses, as she has spent 13 years competing in this sport. Holm’s last boxing match was in 2013, where she won against Mary McGee. That fight helped her defend her IBA and WBF super lightweight titles. Before moving to MMA, Holm had a strong boxing record of 33 wins, 2 losses, and 3 draws, with nine knockouts. She signed with the UFC in 2014 and famously defeated Ronda Rousey in 2015. However, Holm lost her bantamweight title in her next fight and was unable to regain it over several attempts, including a loss to Amanda Nunes in 2019. Recently, Mayer spoke on a podcast and discussed her top three female boxers. She mentioned that Holm would not beat her if they fought, although she respects Holm’s abilities. Holm, now 43, last fought in April 2024, losing to Kayla Harrison. After parting ways with UFC in 2025, Holm said she still has fights left in her career. She remains open to opportunities, including a potential return to boxing.
