Homan now respects court orders on deportation policies
Tom Homan, the border security czar for President Donald Trump, has softened his earlier statements about ignoring judges' opinions. After being asked if he planned to defy court orders, Homan replied, "No," after a moment of silence. His comments come after Judge James Boasberg of Washington, D.C. issued a temporary order. This order stops the Trump administration from deporting migrants under a law called the Alien Enemies Act, which is very old, dating back to 1798. Following the judge's ruling, President Trump and advisor Elon Musk have suggested that Boasberg should be impeached. Homan later spoke to Fox News, where he previously claimed he did not care what judges thought. During an interview with ABC, he admitted his team would appeal Boasberg’s order but insisted they would continue their deportation efforts. Homan emphasized that his focus would remain on deporting those he views as "the worst of the worst." He clarified that his team still has the authority to remove illegal immigrants under regular immigration laws. Homan stated, "We’re going to continue to concentrate on those who are the biggest threat to our communities."
