Honda SP 160 motorcycle sales dropped nearly 80%

Honda's SP 160 motorcycle saw a significant drop in sales in February 2025, despite a recent update. The update, which came in December 2024, included new features like a Bluetooth-enabled 4.2-inch display and made the engine compliant with OBD 2B standards. However, these changes did not help boost interest among buyers. In February 2025, Honda sold only 1,117 units of the SP 160 in India. This is a dramatic 78.33% decrease compared to February 2024, when sales were 5,155 units. Additionally, sales fell by 77.74% from January 2025, when 5,019 units were sold. The SP 160 is equipped with a 162.71cc single-cylinder engine, delivering 13 horsepower and 14.8 Nm of peak torque. It features a 5-speed transmission and claims a mileage of 65 km/l according to ARAI standards. Notable features of the SP 160 include a TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity, and compatibility with Honda's Road Sync app. This allows for turn-by-turn navigation, as well as call and music notifications. The motorcycle also comes with a USB Type-C charger. The SP 160 is offered in two variants: a single disc version priced at Rs 1.21 lakh and a double disc version at Rs 1.27 lakh (ex-showroom).
