Hong Kong customs seizes HK$10 million in contraband
Hong Kong customs have seized contraband goods worth HK$10 million (about US$1.3 million) that were meant for Singapore. The goods included home appliances, electronics, and clothing. The Customs and Excise Department inspected the suspicious container on March 16. It was supposed to carry two private cars and 240 pieces of electronic products. However, the inspection revealed more items than declared. Customs officers found refrigerators, tablets, mobile phones, and clothing inside the container. They noted that the number of electronic products exceeded the original declaration. Investigations are still ongoing, and customs officials have not ruled out making more arrests.
