Hong Kong issues standby signal as Tropical Cyclone Toraji approaches

The Hong Kong Observatory will issue a No 1 standby signal from 8pm to midnight on Monday as Tropical Cyclone Toraji approaches the city. The storm is currently near Luzon in the Philippines and moving west-northwest. Forecasters may raise the warning to No 3 between Tuesday and Wednesday. Toraji is expected to bring stronger winds and squally showers to the region. The storm could be near the Pearl River Estuary by Thursday, but it may also weaken before then.
