Hong Kong start-ups advised to emphasize practical applications
Hong Kong's tech start-ups looking to enter the US market should focus on practical uses for their products, according to Albert Wong, CEO of Science Park. He believes start-ups should "talk less" about their AI capabilities due to growing tensions between China and the US. Wong emphasized the importance of demonstrating how products can be applied effectively. He pointed out that the West Coast of the US is a strong hub for entrepreneurship, thanks to its rich resources in funding and universities. This ecosystem has developed over many decades. The competition in artificial intelligence has intensified lately, especially with new developments from Chinese firms. Recently, a Chinese start-up named DeepSeek launched an advanced AI model that competes with famous US products like ChatGPT from OpenAI. This has heightened concerns about the rivalry between the two countries in the tech sector.
