Hong Kong women’s rugby team learns from past losses

The Hong Kong women's rugby sevens team is preparing for a significant home tournament after a challenging experience in the Challenger Series. Head coach Andy Vilk shared that despite finishing 10th out of 12 teams in South Africa, the players have gained valuable lessons. Vilk is optimistic that the difficulties faced in Cape Town will benefit the team for the upcoming Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens. The team did not qualify for the final leg of the Challenger Series but is focusing on the positives from their experiences. He emphasized the importance of the recent games. The players learned about technical skills, tactics, and physical conditioning. Vilk noted their strong attitudes during the matches, which he views as a big advantage. Looking ahead, he hopes that if the team focuses on improving their process, they will achieve the results they desire in both the Hong Kong Sevens and the National Games in November.
