Hooda criticizes Haryana budget cuts in essential services
Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda criticized the state budget presented by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. He called it full of empty words and misleading statistics. Hooda claimed the budget cuts funding for essential services like agriculture, education, and health. Hooda expressed disappointment over the government's failure to address important issues. He pointed out that the budget did not mention the BJP's past promises, such as creating two lakh jobs or offering higher prices to farmers for crops. He specifically referred to a promise of ₹3,100 for paddy crop, which he said the government has not fulfilled. He raised concerns about the way budget figures are presented. For example, he noted that last year's estimated budget was nearly ₹190,000 crores but was revised down to about ₹180,000 crores. Hooda criticized the government’s decision to borrow 34.87% of the budget, highlighting the state's growing debt. In contrast, Haryana Energy Minister Anil Vij praised the budget. He described it as futuristic and aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for a developed India. He mentioned that over 11,000 suggestions were considered in crafting the budget, which he believes will benefit all regions and people in Haryana.
