Hope women's tennis loses to Wesleyan and Christopher Newport

The Hope College women's tennis team faced tough competition in Florida, losing both matches against top-ranked teams. The Flying Dutch, currently ranked 37th, lost 7-0 to #5 Wesleyan College on Friday. They followed that with a 5-2 loss to #17 Christopher Newport University on Saturday. In the match against Wesleyan, Hope lost all six singles matches. Amanda Lopykinski and Sullivan Moran fell 6-2 in first doubles. In singles, Lopykinski and Hadley Krygier each lost in straight sets. On Saturday, Hope fared better against Christopher Newport, winning two matches. Madison Wei and Phoebe Walker secured a 7-5 victory in third doubles. In singles, Sullivan Moran and Madison Wei both won their matches, but the team still lost overall. Hope College will return to Holland after this trip. They are set to start their conference play against Alma College on Tuesday, March 25. The match will take place at 4 p.m. at VandePoel-Heeringa Stadium Courts.
