HOPS FC defeats Gokulam Kerala in Indian Women’s League

In a surprising match on Thursday, HOPS FC defeated Gokulam Kerala FC 1-0 in the Indian Women’s League. This win marked HOPS FC's first victory of the season. Gladys Amfobea scored the only goal in the 79th minute after a defensive mistake from Gokulam. Despite the victory, HOPS FC remains in last place with only four points from nine games. Gokulam Kerala, meanwhile, suffered its first defeat of the season, ending a six-match winning streak. They now hold second place in the standings with 20 points, just one point behind East Bengal, who have a game in hand. In another match, Kickstart FC narrowly defeated Sribhumi FC 3-2 at the Bangalore Football Stadium. Mariyammal Balamurugan, Karishma Shirvoikar, and Dangmei Grace scored for Kickstart, while Mousumi Murmu and Rimpa Haldar found the net for Sribhumi. Kickstart FC now has two wins and is seventh in the standings, while Sribhumi remains third with 12 points from nine matches.
