House asks Philippine Statistics Authority to verify 1,992 names linked to OVP fund misuse
The House of Representatives in the Philippines has asked the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to verify 1,992 names linked to the alleged misuse of confidential funds by the Office of the Vice President (OVP). Manila 3rd District Rep. Joel Chua, who leads the investigation, stated that the PSA will check civil registry records for these individuals. This follows eight hearings on the spending of confidential funds by the OVP and the Department of Education. Chua previously reported that many names associated with the Department of Education's confidential funds lacked PSA records. Specific individuals, including Mary Grace Piattos and Kokoy Villamin, were noted to have no birth, marriage, or death records in the PSA database.
