Houston traffic closures expected this weekend

Drivers in Houston should prepare for traffic issues this weekend. Major road closures will affect several key highways. Starting Friday night at 9 p.m., all northbound lanes of the Southwest Freeway and Highway 288 will be closed. This concrete work will last until 5 a.m. on Monday. Vehicles will be redirected to I-45 to reach downtown. Additionally, the I-10 East Freeway will have closures. All westbound lanes between Uvalde and Normandy Roads will be shut down until Sunday night. On Saturday, US Highway 90-A will also be closed in both directions at Spur Five. Drivers can use alternate routes like Wheeler and Old Spanish Trail to avoid delays.
