HPV vaccination campaign starts in Noida for girls
A vaccination campaign against human papillomavirus (HPV) was launched in Noida on Friday. The initiative was set up by Akanksha Samiti Gautam Budh Nagar to help protect young girls from cervical cancer. Rashmi Singh, the state president of Akanksha Samiti, inaugurated the event with the district magistrate present. Approximately 200 girls attended the event, and 170 of them received the vaccine. The campaign targets girls aged 9 to 26. School officials ensured that parents gave consent before the vaccine was administered. Teachers were also trained to inform students and families about the vaccine's benefits. Ankita Raj, the District President of Akanksha Samiti, highlighted the importance of the vaccination drive in preventing cervical cancer. Health officials stressed that getting vaccinated early can significantly lower the risk of HPV-related cancers. They are encouraging more schools and parents to join the campaign for broader protection.
