Hugh Freeze diagnosed with early-stage prostate cancer
Auburn football coach Hugh Freeze has been diagnosed with early-stage prostate cancer, the school announced on Friday. Doctors detected the cancer early, and Freeze is expected to make a full recovery while continuing his coaching duties in 2025. The announcement did not specify when Freeze received the diagnosis. He is set to begin his third season with the Tigers, who start spring practices on March 25. Freeze has an 11-14 record at Auburn. Freeze has previously coached at Arkansas State, Ole Miss, and Liberty. He has added new talent to the team, including Oklahoma transfer quarterback Jackson Arnold, as Auburn aims to improve in the upcoming season.
