Huntington Beach remains No. 1 in Orange County rankings

Huntington Beach continues to lead the Orange County high school baseball rankings after winning their league opener against Fountain Valley. This week's rankings feature three undefeated teams in the Top 10: Huntington Beach, Santa Margarita, and Mater Dei. Huntington Beach holds the No. 1 spot with a record of 2-0. They clinched a close 3-2 victory to start the Sunset League. The Oilers are currently ranked sixth nationally and second in California by the Prep Baseball Report. Santa Margarita, ranked second, remains undefeated at 5-0 but did not play last week. They have games scheduled against Villa Park, Damien, and Los Osos this week. Orange Lutheran, ranking third, improved to 4-1 after a convincing 9-0 victory over Centennial. They are participating in a tournament in Las Vegas this week. JSerra, ranked fourth, also did not play last week. They will face Cypress in two upcoming games. Mater Dei, at fifth, has an impressive record of 6-0 and will play against Murrieta Valley and Pacifica before starting their tournament. El Dorado jumped to No. 8 after defeating Cypress. Fullerton rose to No. 10, securing a win over Villa Park. Other notable teams include Servite, which has won five straight games, and Foothill, which suffered a narrow loss to Cypress. Each team continues to compete in league play, which is heating up as the season progresses.
