Hyderabad firm enhances border surveillance with advanced technology
Brihaspathi Technologies, a company based in Hyderabad, is making significant advancements in surveillance and security in India. They focus on protecting international borders and large events, like religious gatherings. Recently, they installed CCTV cameras along the borders with Bangladesh and Pakistan, as well as during the Kumbh Mela festival. The company’s managing director, Rajasekhar Papolu, noted that these cameras aid in monitoring sensitive areas. Following political changes in Bangladesh, the cameras help agencies quickly identify suspicious activities instead of searching through hours of footage. During the Kumbh Mela, over 4,000 cameras were used to ensure safety. Starting with a small team, Brihaspathi Technologies has grown to more than 200 employees. They now integrate artificial intelligence in their camera systems. This technology was notably implemented during the Lok Sabha elections, where they deployed more than 100,000 cameras to secure polling places. The company's revenue has also dramatically increased from Rs 5 lakh a decade ago to Rs 230 crore today. Rajasekhar aims to establish Brihaspathi Technologies as a leading manufacturer of surveillance cameras in India. They are seeking land from the Telangana government to build a manufacturing unit as part of the "Make in India" initiative. Currently, many companies source camera parts from abroad, but Brihaspathi plans to change that by producing locally. The company has installed over one million cameras throughout India and offers various services, including e-Security, home automation, and AI solutions. Rajasekhar, who started with a modest background, has ambitious plans to reach a turnover of Rs 10,000 crore in five years. He hopes to inspire young entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams.
