Hyderabad prepares for IPL 2025 matches, strict security
Hyderabad will host seven matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal from March 23 to May 21. The stadium can hold around 39,000 fans, and gates will open three hours before each match. To ensure safety and security, about 2,700 police officers will be stationed at the venue. The police have set up a Joint Command and Control Room to monitor the area with 450 CCTV cameras. Access controls will be strict for players and VIPs, and security checks will be enforced for all other spectators. A list of banned items includes laptops, banners, cameras, and various electronic devices. Spectators are also not allowed to bring in outside food, sharp objects, and other specific items. Mobile technicians will check mobile phones at each gate. Parking arrangements are made at five locations to manage traffic congestion. Spectators are advised to follow designated routes based on their entry points. Medical services will have five ambulances on standby, and fire engines will be available for emergencies. Additionally, traffic diversions will be in effect on March 23 during the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals. Restrictions will affect heavy vehicles, and various roads leading to and from Uppal will see redirects. Police urge all spectators to cooperate with staff and follow guidelines for a safe and enjoyable experience.
