Hyderabad, Rangareddy lead Telangana in per capita income
Hyderabad: The economic report for Telangana, known as the Socio-Economic Outlook 2025, shows clear income disparities within the state. While Telangana’s per capita income is significantly higher than India's average, the benefits are not spread evenly. Two districts, Rangareddy and Hyderabad, stand out with much higher per capita incomes. Rangareddy has an income of Rs 10,55,913, and Hyderabad has Rs 5,54,105. This is well above the state average of Rs 3,46,457. However, many other districts, such as Vikarabad, fall far behind despite being close to major cities. The report highlights that economic growth is concentrated in urban areas, particularly those with strong industries and services. Many rural and semi-urban regions are not seeing the same level of development. This uneven growth raises concerns about inclusive economic progress in Telangana. The report also notes that the state's per capita income for 2024-25 is projected to be Rs 3,79,751, showing a growth of 9.6% from the previous year. At constant prices, the expected income is Rs 1,87,912, with a growth of 6.2%. The findings emphasize the need for targeted policies to ensure that all districts share in the economic growth of the state.
